Please let us know by 8.45am if it is necessary to keep your child away from school.
If your child develops symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting you should keep them off school until they have been symptom free for at least 48 hours.
If your child is late the school should be notified by 9.30am.
If it is necessary to take a child for an appointment during school hours, they must be collected from the school by a parent.
No child may leave school premises unaccompanied.
Parents must always first come to the school office in order to complete the exit record.
A child’s attendance is monitored and a record of absences is maintained. If the level of absence causes concern, the Headteacher will communicate with parents to discuss the matter.
A Local Authority Attendance Officer might be asked to communicate with parents if there is a persistent or increasing level or absence.

An absence request form must be completed for every planned absence from school, including medical appointments.
All absence requests forms will be considered on a case by case basis and only authorised in exceptional circumstances. If a pupil’s attendance is below 96% (this includes absence for illness or other reasons), then an absence request is unlikely to be authorised. The pupil’s attendance rate will be taken as of the day the request form is handed in to the school office.
If the decision to unauthorise the leave of absence is upheld and the parent still decides to proceed with the absence, the Local Authority may issue parents with a £60 penalty notice per child, per parent (£60 if it is paid within 21 days or £120 within 28 days).
